Halloween- Emperor's New Clothes Make-Up

Panic at the Disco recently uploaded their new video for Emperor's New Clothes, and it is fricking awesome! Brendon Urie dies and then throughout the video turns into a demon. The make up is insane, it just looks incredible. I wanted to look like that. So I thought I'd give it a try and do my make-up in a similar style to that in the video.
Sadly I'm working this Halloween so I won't be able to wear this makeup out, but I filmed it anyway, as I haven't done a video in forever and I really miss it.

And here I'll explain how I made the different features; the horns, the chin and the ears.
I began with the ears; I bought some modelling clay, you can use Plasticine if you'd prefer, basically anything you can model ear tips out of.

Start off by measuring the top of your ears so you can get the right sized ear tips.
Then mold the clay into a triangle; making the top really pointed.
After that I molded some more clay around the edges of the ears to give it more detail.
On the one ear I cut out a small triangle near the tip to make it look like the ear had been cut partly.
After the clay has dried apply the latex, make sure it's not too runny as it will be really tricky to work with. Use talcum powder on the clay so the latex doesn't get stuck after its dried. Apply a few coats of the liquid latex, and once dry peel it off. Use a hairdryer to help it set faster.
The cut any spare latex off.

I did pretty much the same thing for the chin, but tried to mold it onto my own chin so that the latex would fit properly when I came to do the make-up. I created the details on the chin by using thin pieces of Plasticine. Then applied the latex.

The horns were made by using a cardboard tube, about an inch in height. I filled it with tin foil and then inserted a pipe cleaner to use as a skeleton for the rest of the horn. I then wrapped foil around the outside of cardboard, all the way up the piper cleaner. Repeat until the horn is thick enough. You can also shape and bend it to suit what style you want. I made paper mache to apply to the outside to make it easier to paint black.

My 21st

I turned 21 on 17th September... I feel sooo old :(

Buuuut I had a great day so I guess it's not too bad.
I went out for 3 meals, yes 3, not all on the same day I may add. I know right what a fatty but one was with my Dad and his side of the fam, the other with my wonderful Mother and my brothers and whoever else and the last meal was with the boyf and his famalam (yep that's a word) so basically I'm not that much of a chuffa right? I mean I didn't have pudding or anything so it's all good...

My main prezzie was the trip to Barcelona (blog post coming up soon) with my Mum which was wonderful we had many fun times, my Mum is the best. I also got some other cool presents from my crazy family and friends:

I really didn't want to get older, I know it's inevitable but I've felt like this since I was 13 but 21 just sounds so old it's terrifying!

Rome (26th -29th June)

So me and the Boyf had a gap year and have basically been working our butts off to pay for the trip we went on around Europe (me more than him :P) We managed to visit 9 cities in 6 countries during our 3 week trip.
It was one of the best experiences of my life and I advice anyone and everyone to go travelling at least once!

We started off in Rome.

Day 1:

The Italians drive like lunatics! I'm not even joking. We took a minibus from the airport to the Termini and they don't even pay attention to whether the lights on red or green, it's insane. We then arrived at our hotel (Hotel Galatea) which looked awful from the outside but was surprisingly good.

We visited the Spanish Steps which was really pretty but sadly it started to rain a lot, so we took cover in McCafe (very Italian...) We then moved on to the Trevi Fountain. It was so beautiful but incredibly busy. Some guy took our photos on a Polaroid camera but charged £10 for it, 1st rip off in Rome (Silly us, we did get better)
We then walked to the Pantheon and I fell in love. It is stunning, seriously go inside if you're ever in Rome. Just wow.
Then came the shopping, if any of you watch my YouTube channel you won't be surprised that I did a lot of shopping!

We had some great pizza's for dinner at Carlo's. Mine had egg on it! I'd never had an egg pizza before, it was a bit odd but it's pizza so I'm not complaining.

Day 2:

We woke up early(ish) and walked down to the Colosseum. The Colosseum was one of my favorite things about Rome, just imagining everything that happened there and the audio guides we had were great to help you visualize it all. We didn't do much on the second day, just sort of strolled around Rome for a few hours walking past the shops and to Piazza de Popolo and ended up at the Spanish Steps again.
Oh and don't have dinner at Hard Rock...It was awful. I've been to a few and they're all great but Rome was just a joke.

Day 3:

It was time for a museum day so we ventured off to the Capitolene Museum and spent all the morning there as it is a lot bigger than it looks. It was great but got a bit samey after a while. We then went the river just to explore a bit more of Rome but I can't remember any names of the places we went to sorry!
This was our last day and night in Rome so we decided to go to a cute little Italian restaurant called Palatium and the food was amazing!

I loved Rome but some parts of it were just so annoying. All the men trying to sell you shit on the streets did my head in! I've never seen so many, and I wouldn't mind if they tried to sell their items on the street politely but they shove everything in your face, if you're at a major tourist site this happens ALL the time. And I'm not an idiot I do expect this to happen but not so frequently. I struggled to take photos without some moron shoving a rose in my face or throwing a glowing ball towards me. I had to lie and say I was allergic to roses 'cause these guys wouldn't take no for an answer. They would literally shove the roses into your body/boobs (yep boobs) unless you took one or shoved past them. And there are people doing the same things in the other cities I went to in Italy but not as many and they weren't so determined.
We had a fantastic time in Rome but I'm not sure if I'd go again. I probably would if I was travelling around Europe but I wouldn't just go to Rome on a holiday.

Tenerife.

So I went to Tenerife for 3 weeks back in May (yes I know that was ages ago, I'm shit at posting on time). During these 3 weeks I went on Whale watching boats to research the whales and dolphins in Tenerife and to also help raise awareness of the whale hunting that has been happening as well as collecting petitions against it, working for a company called AWF.

It was such an amazing experience and I'm so happy I went. I got to meet a load of new and awesome people and just had a great time with them all. If any of you are interested in volunteering here are the links:

Iron Man Nail Art

After seeing the new Iron Man movie I decided to do a nail tutorial for my Youtube channel, which was actually really fun but not as easy as I thought it would be. I did the nail art a few times before I was happy with uploading the video which isn't perfect but you can still follow it and probably do it better than me!

Like I said the thumb nails aren't fantastic and are a little messy but I think they turned out quite well. For the rest of the nails I just used a sponge to dab on red nail polish as I didn't want just block colours. It would probably look better and be easier to do if you have longer nails and you could also paint the mask so it's facing away from you which could make it slightly easier to do.
All in all I was quite happy with how they turned out but I still think I need a lot of practice before I can do them perfectly. Feel free to let me know what you think below or you could watch the video and paint your own Iron Man nail art :)

New Look Event

New Look were holding an event where friends and family of the staff were invited to come to the shop after it had closed so they could get 25% off everything except sale and label lounge, and I was invited too, even though I don't know anyone at New Look. We got to wander around the shop for an hour looking for things to buy, and luckily there weren't too many people so it was really crowded until we came to pay!
They also held a raffle with some of the prizes donated from Dove Spa and lots of gift cards to spend in New Look including £50 gift card! There was also little refreshments like cakes and biscuits ! :)
I ended up spending £55 but saved £25 so I was pretty happy with that. And because I spent over £25 I got a Dove Spa goody bag which included £5 off my next visit and also samples of Intense Hand and Foot Balm as well as a sample of Self Heating Sugar Polish, which is an exfoliating treatment.
I purchased a few clothes as well as some jewelry as I've recently got a bot addicted to buying jewelry, and also got a few things for a friend.
